Amândio Brito made these statements to journalists after the second ordinary session of the current mandate, where the report for the period from March 21 to June 30 was presented.
According to the mayor, the report is "full of diverse activities, at all levels", but also of "interesting experiences and projects" that are being put together with a view to increasingly improving the development of the municipality.
With regard to the 2024 management accounts, the mayor said that the matter had been brought before the assembly for analysis and, as usual, they had made what they thought was an assessment of the document.
He then stressed that some questions had been raised, which had been answered "as far as possible", bearing in mind that it referred to the management of the previous municipality.
For his part, the leader of the Movement for Democracy (MPD) caucus in the Municipal Assembly, Samuel Varela, said that they evaluated the performance of the outgoing team very positively, with a high execution rate.
"The proof of this are the visible projects that have materialized here in our municipality, because today the current team has presented an oral rapporteur since the last session and they have done a lot and we have to admit that. Of course, I'm encouraged because they too are aware that there's a lot to be done," he said.
The political leader pointed out that as of March, "as they say in political jargon, the grace period will be over" and now the urgency is to "get down to structuring projects, because that is what the municipality demands and expects from the current team".
